1991.
Find your ace of spades
Like your grade to investigate cards, a dating aid can be
very useful. For a deck manufactured by Play Co., a dating code was placed on
Ace Spades at the time of manufacture. The code was first used in 1904 and only
applies to Aces of Spades with a letter pla four-digit number. Collectors have
no meaning with fewer numbers for collectors.
From the beginning in 1904, the same codes were used by
subsidiaries of the National Playing Card and. Andrew Dougherty and Playing
Card Co. these codes also, as they were part of USPC in 1907 and 1929
respectively.
Date your Playing Cards
If you look at the Ace of Spades (above) from card deck, you
will see the lot directly below the IN Now, see the chart below to find out
what year / years they print Code M.
Narrowing down dates
As you will see, you are given a range of dates. You must
now use your reasoning and deduction powers to reduce your choices to one date.
For example, we know that Casino opened in 1964, so these
cards were not printed in 1909, 1930 or 1950. In addition, if you look at deck
box, you will see that it is a Playing card perforated label. These types of
labels were used roughly between 1965 and 1975. Therefore, 1990 and 2010 are
out of date. That leaves 1970, and that is the year that these cards were
printed.
Other playing card dating notes:
1. Around 1965, the initiated a number of prefabricated
decks, in particular the decks of the Congress. This means that the provision
of faces was then printed and could be added as required. Therefore, the cards
of Congress and any other pre-face brands stop using all the codes.
2. The letters I, O, and V are not used because they can be
easily mixed with numbers. However, Q was gradually used during 1991 and 1992.
3.Currently, the majority of custom decks printed by for
Magic companies do not follow this code or they do not print a number on their
Ace of Spades.
4. The may change their codes at any time without notice. So
everything gray on this chart is subject to change without notice. Most of the
modern decks produced in Erlanger were bare copyright dates on the bottom of
the box and the four-digit prefixes before the letter of week and year of
manufacture indicated.
5. The letter H was also occasionally used in 2013.
